My Funny Little Girlies

My kids crack me up. Ella is the funniest toddler I have ever been around in my life. I know I am biased, but I really think she is. She comes up with the funniest comments and questions every minute of every day. And there is just something about Lily's grin that makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. So here are my funny little girlies and their contagious smiles.
Daddy put Ella on his bike and she loved it! She didn't stop laughing the entire time she was on it.

A Beautiful Fall Day

Today was an absolutely beautiful day. It was warm, sunny, and a perfect day to get my girls outside for some fresh air. The light was beautiful as the sun was going down and I love how it made my girls' eyes sparkle. I wish everyday could be like today!

Behind in Editing

When I started this blog, my intention was to take photos every day and post at least one of those photos every evening. I didn't realize how much work that was going to entail. Since then I have discovered that with two very demanding kids I don't always have time in the evening to edit the photos that I want to. Because of this, I think I am going to have to break down and accept the fact that sometimes I have to post photos that weren't taken on the day of the post. I will still post a photo (or more) every day, and I will try to make it a photo of the current day, but sometimes the photos will be from another day. Today is one of those days. I am soooooo behind in my editing right now and after a busy day of shopping with my girls, I haven't had time to edit any photos tonight. So my photos for today are a couple of ring shots from Mar's wedding on Saturday. Hopefully I will get caught up soon!

Back to Blogging...

Okay, so Mar's wedding is over and things are finally starting to slow down a bit for me, so I am back to blogging. I am sooooo far behind in editing that I don't have much to post right now, so I'm just going to put up a couple of snaps from Mar's bachelorette for tonight. You can find the rest on facebook by tomorrow night, hopefully. I also hope to be back to my regular everyday photos tomorrow. Thanks for being patient while I took the last week off!
We threw Mar a masquerade themed party, so I made the cake to match.

The bridal party, Laura-Lee, Shauna, Mel, and myself, all giving the bride a kiss. Bridal party again. All of the girls, almost ready to go out. And finally all ready with our masks.

Wow, I'm getting really bad at this...

It turns out that I just keep getting worse at keeping up with my blog, but I promise that I will get back on track after this week is over. I spent all of last week planning and getting ready for Mar's bachelorette party (watch out for a few pics to be posted) and this week is going to be absolutely crazy with trying to get everything in place for the wedding. So if I don't get all of my posts in, please forgive me. I'll keep taking photos and try to post when I can, but I have to put my little sister's wedding first this week. By the time next Monday rolls around, I will get back on track....promise!

Catching Up

I'm only a couple of weeks into my photo of the day and have already missed two days in a row. This week has been crazy and I have been falling asleep early so my posts haven't been getting done. I've been taking the photos, but just not posting them. So tonight I am going to post a bunch of shots to catch myself up on the week. Most of them are just simple snapshots, but I hope you enjoy!
Here is Miss Ella and her first successful big girl ponytail. She looked so grown up that it made me a bit sad. She loved it though, as you can see. Side view of her big girl ponytail:More of Lily's cute little smile, which looks sooooo much like Ella's did at that age:Today Ella came running in the room in this mask. I pretended like I didn't know it was her...
So she promtly pulled her mask off, declaring, "Mommy, it's me, Ella!" She thought it was hilarious!Meet Ella's two best friends, blanky and baby. This is actually blanky number two, since we lost her original one in the mall one day. I think I was more upset than she was and we did manage to find her another one that she accepted rather well. Here is Ella sleeping with them. She won't go to bed without them. I'm glad that she has something that is so comforting to her. Lily likes to sleep when we go out for walks and she always looks so peaceful.
{As a side note, let me just state that I was always one of those people who insisted that my kids would NEVER and I mean NEVER have a soother. When Ella was about four days old, I realized that sometimes babies just need something to suck on and I gave in and gave her one. I took it away the week that she turned a year old and I plan to do the same with Lily.}Ella was very interested in the red leaves that she was finding on our walk:And she LOVES her shadow. It amazes her now it follows her around.

Daddy's Girls

Since today was a holiday we got to stay home all day. We were pretty busy cleaning up the house and unpacking all of the things that we moved back from the Island, but I made sure to take a few quick snapshots of Shawn playing with our girls. They were both very happy to have him home for the day.

Family Fall Photo Shoot

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I had a great day today, surrounded by plenty of family. We even had two wonderful turkey dinners. I spent some of this afternoon taking photos of my cousins for a project that I am working on for my grandmother for Christmas (shhhh...don't tell her). After being stuck inside so much lately, it was sooooo nice to be able to get outside and shoot in natural light again. I only had time to edit a few tonight, but here is a little preview of some of those shots.

Big Blue Eyes

Today I was away from both of my girls for most of the day. Ella is still at her Grammy's and Lily stayed with her Great-Aunt Cona while Shawn and I went to the Island to clean out our apartment. Needless to say, I didn't take many photos. I did grab a quick shot of Lily and her huge blue eyes when Shawn was burping her. Her eyes are the first thing that everyone comments on when they see her. I may be biased, but I happen to think that they are quite beautiful :).

Relaxed Baby

I don't have a lot to say tonight, but just wanted to share a quick shot of Lily relaxing on Ella's couch. I can't believe how quickly she is growing and how big she is getting. It's hard to believe that she's seven weeks old already.

Random Textures

Today was one of those days where I didn't have a lot of opportunities to take photos. It was a dull, dreary day, Ella was gone to her grammy's, and Lily and I just didn't do anything of any interest today. So I was wandering around the house tonight wondering what I could post for my photo of the day and I decided to take a few random texture shots. Anyone have any guesses what the items are (not that it's super hard to tell)?

Beautiful Sleeping Baby

I love babies. I'm one of those people who will sit and watch a sleeping baby. Lucky for me, I currently have a baby of my own that I can do that with. I love her tiny little hands and her sweet pouty lips. It is one of those moments that makes me wish she could stay this tiny forever. Since I know she can't, I'll keep on taking the photos so I can look back on them and always remember these days.

My Stubborn Little Toddler

Ella hates having her photo taken. I seem to spend all day chasing her around with my camera, begging and bribing her to let me take her photo and she rarely gives in. When she does finally let me take her photo, I usually get a shot of her "cheese smile", complete with closed, sqinty eyes. I'm hoping that one day she'll wake up and decide that she'd like to pose for me, but I don't know if that will ever happen. Until then I will take what I can get. Today I got a couple of shots of her without her cheese smile. They may not be the best shots of her, but at least you can see her pretty eyes.

Pretty Smiles

For some strange reason my internet connection wasn't working properly last night and I couldn't get my photos uploaded, so I am posting them tonight. They are photos of my sweet little Lily's smile. She's six weeks old and just starting to smile as a reaction to people talking to her, so I have been trying to capture some of that sweetness with my camera. Although it's been hard to catch, I think you can see a bit of it in these photos, especially in her eyes. How can you not love a baby's smile?
